One decision, one path
Everything on the site leads to the same step. A membership that costs a year of someone's attention does not benefit from a second call to action competing for it.
A single-page app, deliberately
The content is short, the audience small, and the experience is meant to feel continuous rather than paged. That is the case where a single-page build earns its keep — and it is the exception here, not the default.
